About Us
January 2019 marked the 25th anniversary of Confidante, Inc. Bobbi Lambert, M.A., Ph.D. and Norman Plummer, Esq., formed Confidante in 1994 with the express purpose of working with clients to ensure harmony in their workplaces, prevent violent acts and mitigate the negative consequences of all forms of harassment, discrimination and hostile work environments.
Dr. Lambert is an expert in human behavior/psychology who specializes in workplace issues and complex personal and interpersonal concerns. Along with Mr. Plummer’s legal expertise in employment law, workplace investigations and human resources, they have a unique and valuable combination of skills and abilities and have successfully intervened in countless challenging situations for their client organizations, leadership and employees.
In 1993, Dr. Lambert was serving as the National Director of Training, Education and Consultation for U.S. Behavior Health. In July of that year, she received an emergency request from the human resources director of their client, Pettit and Martin, a highly successful and respected San Francisco, California Law firm. She learned there was a workplace shooting still in progress at the firm and she could actually hear the gun shots on her end of the line. When the violence finally ended with the suicide of the shooter, there were nine people dead. The effectiveness of the intervention provided by Dr. Lambert and her team for the survivors in the aftermath of this tragedy received accolades in the media and she became recognized nationally as a leading expert in the subject matter of workplace violence.
Mr. Plummer served as the President and General counsel for the company he co-founded, Lifesource, a very successful home infusion therapy practice that went on to pioneer many high-tech infusion methodologies that were applied in bay area hospitals in the home healthcare industry. Following the completion of a merger and acquisition with an east coast health care firm, Mr. Plummer partnered with Dr. Lambert in the establishment of Confidante, Inc. in 1994. The following year, the company was retained to develop a comprehensive workplace violence prevention program for the over 40,000 employees and managers of Wegmans Food Markets, a privately held American supermarket chain headquartered on the east coast that regularly tops the Fortune magazine’s 100 best companies to work for. Confidante continued to work closely with Wegmans for fifteen years. During that period of time, their assignments expanded to include other important aspects of the business, including researching their performance management and hiring systems and recommending improvements to maximize effectiveness. Confidante has successfully managed complex and potentially dangerous workplace situations and investigated over eight hundred workplace violence, sexual harassment, discrimination and hostile work environment cases for attorneys and clients large and small across the country. While continuing to do so, they expanded their services to include recruiting, hiring, and managing top talent to maintain the highest standard of workplace behavior, productivity and collaboration. Their consulting engagements are highly customized to meet the needs of their clients and the circumstances of the engagement.
